How-To Guides
Save a crop to your farm
When you save a crop to your farm, FARMIS attaches its planting date and area to your account. The app then shows you stage-by-stage advice — land prep, planting, weeding, fertilising, pest control, harvest — and surfaces it on your Dashboard at the right time.
Save a crop
- From the Dashboard, tap Crops.
- Browse or search for the crop. The library covers staples (sweet potato, taro, cassava, banana, yam), vegetables, and cash crops (coffee, cocoa, vanilla) among others.
- Open the crop page.
- Tap Add to my farm.
- Enter:
- Planting date (or your planned planting date)
- Area in hectares or square metres
- Tap Confirm.
The crop now appears on your Dashboard with the current stage of advice. As time passes, FARMIS moves to the next stage automatically.
Read stage advice
- Open the saved crop from your Dashboard or from Crops → My farm.
- The top card shows the current stage with its recommended actions.
- Scroll down to read the full advisory — fertiliser, water, common pests, harvest tips.
Update a saved crop
If your planting date changes, or the area was wrong:
- Open the saved crop.
- Tap Edit (or the pencil icon).
- Update the date or area and tap Save.
The stage advice recalculates from the new date.
Remove a saved crop
- Open the saved crop.
- Tap Remove from my farm.
- Confirm.
You won't lose the crop reference page — only the link from your Dashboard.
Tips
- Save only the crops you actually grow. Saving everything floods your Dashboard with reminders.
- Be honest about the area. The recommended fertiliser amount scales with it.
- If you grow the same crop in two plots, save it twice with two different dates.
