How-To Guides
Identify a pest or disease
The Pests & Diseases section helps you put a name on what's wrong with your crop, and gives prevention and treatment options — including organic options where available.
Search by name
If you already know (or suspect) what the problem is called:
- From the Dashboard, tap Pests & Diseases.
- Tap the search field.
- Type the name — for example taro leaf blight, fruit fly, coffee berry borer.
- Open the matching entry.
Browse by crop
If you only know the crop and the symptom:
- Open Pests & Diseases.
- Tap Browse by crop.
- Choose your crop. The list narrows to problems known to affect it.
- Scan the entries — each shows a thumbnail and a one-line description.
- Open whichever matches what you're seeing.
What each entry tells you
- Symptoms — what you see on leaves, stems, fruit, or in the soil.
- Severity — how fast it spreads and how bad it gets if untreated.
- Prevention — practices that reduce the chance of it appearing.
- Treatment — options ranked from least to most intensive. Organic options are flagged.
Save an entry for later
- Open the entry.
- Tap the bookmark / save icon.
- The entry is now available in My saved and works offline.
This is useful when you're going to the field and you might not have signal.
If you're not sure what you're looking at
Sometimes symptoms overlap. When you genuinely can't tell:
- Take a clear photo in daylight, ideally showing both healthy and affected parts side by side.
- Open the Agri Forum and tap +.
- Post the photo with your crop, your location, recent weather, and when you first noticed it.
- Other farmers and agricultural experts will reply, often within a day.
