About
Okra is a heat-loving annual that thrives in the lowlands of Papua New Guinea. It produces tender ridged green pods used in soups, stews, and curries, and grows reliably even in poorer soils.
Health Benefits
Rich in vitamin C, vitamin K, folate, and soluble fibre. Supports digestion, blood sugar control, and heart health. Low in calories and good for diabetic diets.
Market Requirements
Buyers want young pods 7-10 cm long, bright green, and snap cleanly. Pack in shallow crates or bundles of 20-30 pods. Older woody pods are unmarketable.
