About

Coffee is one of PNG's most important export crops, with Arabica grown in the highlands (1200-1900m altitude) producing some of the world's finest specialty coffees. PNG coffee is known for its complex flavour profile. Smallholder farmers produce the majority of PNG coffee, making it a vital source of cash income for highland communities.

Health Benefits

Contains antioxidants and caffeine which can improve alertness and concentration. Rich in polyphenols. Moderate consumption linked to reduced risk of several chronic diseases.

Market Requirements

Cherry must be harvested at peak ripeness (bright red). Proper processing (wet or dry) is critical. Parchment coffee must be dried to 11-12% moisture. Grade by bean size and defect count.
