About
Avocado grows well in PNG highland and mid-altitude areas. The fruit is increasingly popular in PNG diets and town markets. Trees are productive for decades once established and provide a reliable long-term income source. Both local seedling varieties and grafted improved varieties are grown.
Health Benefits
Exceptionally rich in healthy monounsaturated fats, potassium (more than banana), vitamin K, folate, vitamin C, and vitamin E. Supports heart health and nutrient absorption.
Market Requirements
Fruit should be harvested mature (firm) and allowed to ripen off the tree. No bruising or skin damage. Uniform size preferred. Sell before overripe.
